Homework

Students are expected to complete a weekly Reading Log. Reading to or with your child (and discussing what you have read) for at least 10-15 minutes a day should be a part of your regular routine. A home library is just as important as a classroom library, and loving books is contagious.  Your enthusiasm for literature will breed a similar enthusiasm in your child.

Our math program has a homework component which enables you to participate in math learning with your child.  When homework is sent home, please see that it is complete and returned to school the next day.

Children are also expected to complete weekly literacy activities at home.  These "tic tac toe" handouts encourage children to practice phonics skills and review their sight words in a hands on, interactive way.  Students receive this homework on Monday and it should be returned on Friday.

As the school year progresses, the children will be asked to complete specific projects or activities at home.
